Obama and Clinton Clueless On Honduras

Predictably, President Barack Obama quickly moved today to placate his Latin American pals (Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, and Daniel Ortega). In his statement on the exiling of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, the President stated:

“We believe that the coup was not legal…”

“It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition, rather than democratic elections.”

“our goal now is on restoring democratic order in Honduras.”

Now, let’s look at the undeniable facts behind what happened in Honduras:

Constitutionally barred from running for a second term, Honduran President Zelaya unilaterally moved for a referendum to have the constitution changed. Unfortunately for Zelaya, he HAD NO LEGAL RIGHT to call for such a referendum (that right rests solely in the hands of its democratically elected Congress).

Nonetheless, Zelaya had his dear friend Hugo Chavez ship him the illegal ballots from Venezuela. The Honduran Supreme Court then ruled the referendum illegal and instructed the Honduran military to refuse its duty of carrying out the illegal vote.

When the military’s ranking General (Romeo Vásquez Velásquez) informed Zelaya that, naturally, he would obey the country’s top court, Zelaya fired him. Well, you can imagine that the court was none too pleased with this most un-presidential firing and promptly ordered that the general be reinstated. Zelaya refused.

The next day, Zelaya led a mob to the building where those Venezuelan ballots were being stored, stormed it and instructed his supporters to distribute the illegal ballots.

Finally, all branches of the democratic Honduran government-from the Supreme Court to Congress to Attorney General-decided that enough was enough and ordered the military to fulfill its mandate and protect the country’s democracy.

So, what exactly was President Obama’s referring to as “an illegal coup”? Also, when he states “we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition…” he shows off his ignorance of the situation in Honduras.

The Honduran military, acting at the bi-partisan request of a democratically elected Congress and Court was, to quote Barack, doing nothing less than “restoring democratic order in Honduras.”

In his usual rush to placate socialist dictators that wish only the worst for America, President Obama has done nothing less than undermine a burgeoning democracy.

President Obama Sells More Ambassadorships

In a previous post, I wrote about how President Barack Obama was repaying his wealthy campaign financiers with prime ambassadorships in Japan, France, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.

Well, last week the President continued his payback:

  · Belgium: Washington lawyer Howard Gutman, who raised over $500,000 for Obama’s campaign.

  · Switzerland: Donald Beyer, who also raised more than $500,000 for the campaign.

  · Belize: Vinai Thummalapally, Colorado business executive, raised up to $200,000 for the campaign.

Obama also named Washington lawyer Mark Gitenstein to an ambassadorial post. Gitenstein, who personally donated the maximum allowed contribution of $4,500 to V.P. Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and $1,500 to Hillary Clinton’s campaign was given the far less desirable post in Romania. Don’t worry Mark, you’ll still get the free travel, meals, parties and expenses.

NBC’s Tom Brokaw, A Total A-Hole

In an interview with Barack Obama, NBC’s Tom Brokaw displayed his ignorance of history and his anti-Israel bias when he disgracefully asked the President:

Brokaw: What can the Israelis learn from your visit to Buchenwald? And what should they be thinking about their treatment of Palestinians?

Obama: Well, look, there’s no equivalency here.

All I can say is Bravo President Obama, Bravo.

Obama Selling Ambassadorships & Siding with Terrorists Over 9/11 Victims

Though President Obama campaigned on a platform of change and made lofty promises of all sorts, it looks like politcs as usual as the President has no problem selling off a few of our prime ambassadorships.

When it comes to handing out diplomatic posts, it seems the prime qualification for Obama is how much cash you donated to his presidential campaign and inauguration. Here are just a few, compliments of Bloomberg News:

  · Japan: John Roos, CEO of a Palo Alto, California-based law firm. He raised more than $500,000 for Obama.

  · France: Charles Rivkin, CEO of Wildbrain Inc. Rivkin collected more than $500,000 for Obama’s campaign and an additional $300,000 for his inauguration.

  · Denmark: Laurie Fulton, a partner with Williams & Connolly LLP. Raised up to $200,000.

  · United Kingdom: Louis Susman, retired Citigroup Inc. senior investment banker. Susman raised up to $500,000 for Obama’s presidential campaign and another $300,000 for his inauguration.

Sure, why shouldn’t taxpayers pay for a bunch of millionaires to live it up abroad in government owned mansions? Let’s fly them and their families around the world on the taxpayer’s dime and fund their elaborate parties and lifestyle abroad. That way, come the next election, they’ll have plenty of cash left to fund more campaigns!

Personally, based on the way the Obama Administration is treating the Brits, I don’t know if I would even take that job! In the latest flap between what used to be unflappable allies, Obama’s joke of a press secretary Robert Gibbs lashed out at the British media stating “You’re not going to find very many of these newspapers and truth within 25 words of each other.”

Of course, when it came to placating Obama’s King in Saudi Arabia, the President wasted no time this week in petitioning the Supreme Court to protect Saudi Arabia and four of its princes from being held accountable for their role in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. At this point, does it surprise anyone that he would side with the terrorist enablers instead of the 9/11 victims and their families who are simply seeking justice? Come on, not only did he bow before King Abdullah, but he is currently working as hard as possible to give terrorists held in Guantanamo Bay prison full access to the US court system! So, to review, full access to the US court system for terrorists, full immunity in the US courts for Saudi financiers of 9/11, BUT no legal recourse against the former by the victims of terrorism.

Moving back to Obama’s political appointments, it seems that some of those he put in the Justice Department just don’t care at all about racists who performed what civil rights icon Bartle Bull called “the most blatant form of voter intimidation” that he had ever seen. How could this be? Simple, because the perpetrators were not white, they were the African American founders of the New Blank Panthers. So, even though career lawyers had secured a case against the 3 lowlifes for wielding weapons and intimidating voters at a polling place last Election Day, Obama’s political appointments opted not to pursue charges. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr, YOU are the coward, not the American people! (as he suggested on MLK day)

Finally, it looks like Obama has made good on another campaign promise. Costing taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars, the Obama’s flew to NY for dinner and a show. As always, the President showed wonderful timing, choosing to do this about 36 hours before pushing GM into bankruptcy.
