By the looks of it, President Barack Obama seemed tickled pink to meet his new friend, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela last weekend:

The US President seemed all to happy to shake the evil dictator’s hand and greet him warmly with a huge smile (at least he didn’t bow). Obama even seemed to have a good laugh with him. Maybe he was listening to some of Chavez’s more famous quotes:

On the United States of America:
    “Let’s save the human race, let’s finish off the U.S. empire.”

    “Down with the U.S. empire! It must be said, in the entire world: Down with the empire!”

    “The grand destroyer of the world, and the greatest threat is represented by U.S. imperialism.”

    “It is an imperialist government, one that says it fights against terrorism but protects it.”

    In Iran: “The United States Empire is on its way down and will be finished in the near future, inshallah (arabic for god willing)”

    “I hereby accuse the North American empire of being the biggest menace to our planet.”

    “We must confront the privileged elite who have destroyed a large part of the world.”

    “You are a coward, a killer, a perpetrator of genocide…”

    “Terrorism, putting fear into other nations, putting fear into their own people.”

    “The imperialist, genocidal, fascist attitude of the U.S. president has no limits. I think Hitler would be like a suckling baby next to George W. Bush.”

    “Go to hell, gringos! Go home!…What does the empire want?”

On Capitalism:
    “Socialism builds and capitalism destroys.”

    “Capitalism leads us straight to hell.”

On Israel:
    “Israel has gone mad. It’s attacking, doing the same thing to the Palestinian and Lebanese people that it has criticised – and with reason – in the case of the Holocaust. But this is a new Holocaust.”

    “The Hebrew people do not deserve this genocidal, murderous government.”

    “We have broken (diplomatic) relations with Israel and have no plans to restore them, even less so now.”

On Zimbabwe’s Mass Murdering Tyrant Robert Mugabe:
    “I give you a replica of liberator Simon Bolivar’s sword. For you who, like Bolivar, took up arms to liberate your people. For you who, like Bolivar, are and will always be a true freedom fighter. Mugabe continues, alongside his people, to confront the pretensions of new imperialists.”

Clearly it didn’t bother President Obama that Hugo Chavez recently hosted a delegation of Hizballah (you know, that internationally branded terrorist organization with American blood on its hands). I guess it’s no big deal that Chavez has been heavily funding anti-American groups throughout South and Central America. No matter that he’s been aiding drug cartels and is even accused of helping them smuggle billions of dollars of cocaine into the US in an effort to undermine our war on drugs.

I guess we can just hope that Barack’s playing nice gets Chavez to change everything he believes in.

My beloved franchise, the New York Yankees, has been reduced to money grubbing whores.

I’ve been a season tickets holder for several years and the Yankees have actually resorted to spamming me now. I’ve been getting 3 or more emails a week for the past month and have actually received 2 already today.

The new stadium, like a roster of ‘All-Stars’, is aesthetically beautiful but completely dysfunctional. Watching a game, as my best friend Ben and I did yesterday, is a pain in the ass and not nearly as good an experience as in the old Stadium.

Perhaps a quarter of the seats (or based on attendance, a third of the fans in the ballpark) can’t see the simple box score as it is only posted on the outfield walls. Thousands of the most loyal fans have obstructed views, so that a fancy classless sports bar could be installed. There is advertising absolutely everywhere, like the sick lovechild of a used car dealership and cheap supermarket.

The Yankees will not sell out a single game this year (they won’t even come close) and it is truly embarrassing that the vast majority of camera shots will show thousands of empty seats. Go to Ticketmaster.com and you can purchase tickets for any game you choose. Want to watch them play the Mets, no problem. The defending champ Phillies, no problem. How about the Red Sox? Go ahead and invite a couple of hundred friends because there are tickets galore. Naturally, you’ll have needed to be shorting the stock market for the past year because the tickets start at $375 but, if you’ve got the cash, there are literally thousands of seats available.

As Ben pointed out yesterday, the three most important historical aspects – Monument Park, Retired Numbers, and Championship Years – are barely visible. Monument park is in a cave behind padding while the numbers and years are tiny and painted on what looks like bathroom tile (clearly a last minute addition after a blatant oversight).

To make matters worse, the ballpark is a bandbox which will totally sink our pitching staff and devastate our young pitchers’ confidence. You’d think that for $1.5 Billion they would at least be able to get that part right. Hell, the people who built The Stadium in the early 1920’s got it exactly right!

We’ve arrived at the end of the era of Jeter, Jorge and Mo and entered the dark era of Lonn Trost and Randy Levine.

Completely classless and very sad.

While running for President, Barack Obama used outrageous rhetoric and lofty promises to convince the American people that he was the candidate they should vote for. Naturally, the national media never challenged him on the campaign trail and hasn’t confronted him now that he’s been in the position to make good on these promises.

My next few posts will review these campaign pledges and the rhetoric used by the great orator and compare them with the reality of his presidency. Let’s start with government transparency and accountability.

Pledge: In an attempt to make government more open and accountable Obama “will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.”



Reality: President Obama couldn’t even keep this promise for the FIRST BILL that came to his desk! He signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act on Jan. 20 (only two days after its passage) without posting any of the text online.

How about the second bill? Nope. He signed an expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (providing health coverage for low-income children) on Feb. 4 just hours after it was finalized in Congress. Then when it came to the most expensive bill in the history of our Country, the President flubbed again – though in all fairness, not a single member of Congress read the full text either!

To make matters worse, Obama managed to intertwine this pledge with another broken pledge against allowing lobbyists to serve in his administration. How? Those first two bills were lobbied for by lobbyists who became members of his new administration!

Pledge: Obama constantly attacked his rival John McCain for working with former lobbyist on his campaign and claimed that Obama’s ethics proposals specifically spelled out that former lobbyists would not be allowed to “work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years.” Just listen his insane rhetoric at a huge fundraising dinner in Iowa (you can stop the video after the first 30 seconds or so):



Reality: While it is true that on his first full day in office, Obama signed an executive order to that effect, he included a tremendous loophole in the form of a “waiver” clause that allows former lobbyists to serve at the administration’s discretion. So, the policy basically states that “lobbyist aren’t allowed unless we say they are.”

For example, let’s look at the appointment of former Raytheon lobbyist William J. Lynn to deputy defense secretary. Raytheon is the US’s 5th largest defense contractor, with $20 billion resulting in 93% of the company’s total revenues!

How about lobbyist Jocelyn Frye being named director of policy and projects in the Office of the First Lady? Frye lobbied for National Partnership for Women and Families from 2001 to 2008 and was actually listed as a lobbyist working for the first bill Obama signed into law! Looking for a trend? How about former lobbyist Cecilia Muñoz who worked for the National Council of La Raza and became Obama’s director of intergovernmental affairs in the Executive Office of the President? She lobbied for the second bill Obama signed into law!

The ultimate outrage has got to be former Goldman Sachs lobbyist Mark Patterson now being the chief of staff to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. Goldman took $10 billion in TARP funds and has since constantly boasted about how they would like to repay it. Hmmm, I wonder how they’re going to pull that off? Probably with the $13 billion in tax payer money funneled to them directly from AIG! Absolutely, positively disgraceful!

So, to use Obama’s own words, our Government is not open & transparent and lobbyists working in Barack Obama’s White House drown out the voices of the American People.

So what did Barack Obama, our new President who the world loves, accomplish on his big foreign tour?

At the G-20 conference in England, he was aiming for a commitment of additional stimulus from member states – He got none. Actually, he got a commitment that there specifically would be NO additional stimulus. Though, he did get to literally bow to Saudi King Abdullah.

At the NATO conference he was looking for our allies to help us in Afghanistan with a commitment of combat troops – He got none. Well, he did get a commitment for 5,000 military and police trainers but that is really quite a pitiful response. He did get to go to Turkey and speak about America not being at war with the “Muslim World” over and over again. This constant talk of the “Muslim World” confuses me as there is actually no “Muslim World” per se (their hidden Imam and Caliphate hasn’t returned yet). There are, in fact, many Muslim countries with a great variety of interests – often competing interest that have nothing to do with us. Incidentally, polls show Turkey to be the most anti-American country on the planet.

When North Korea proceeded with their ballistic missile launch he stated “Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished. Words must mean something.” The president then turned to the UN Security Council and got… absolutely nothing! Three days later, China is asking for a “cautious and proportionate” response (AKA no response) and Russia is still questioning if the launch violated the previous UNSC resolutions that stated North Korea shall “not conduct any further nuclear test or launch of a ballistic missile.” Amusingly, the President thought this would be a good time to discuss stopping our missile defense system and reducing our nuclear deterrence. I guess there really is nothing like negotiating from a position of weakness.

Oh yeah, he also wants the US to join the virulently anti-Semitic UN Human Rights Council and is considering having the US attend the UN’s racist, Anti-Racism Durban II conference (which ironically starts on Hitler’s birthday – you just can’t make this stuff up). Let’s not forget that the only thing agreed to at Durban I was that Israel is the only racist country in the world. Really, Israel was the only country criticized by name in the 2001 Durban Declaration. Naturally, the EU has no problems reaffirming this declaration. Not surprisingly, there is no mention of Anti-Semitism in the 2009 draft document and Arab states vigorously oppose the following text:

Affirms that the Holocaust, which resulted in the murder of one-third of the Jewish people, along with numerous members of other minorities, will forever be a warning to all people of the dangers of hatred, bigotry, racism and prejudice; recalls again that the Holocaust must never be forgotten…

Urges States to raise awareness and to implement United Nations General Assembly resolutions 60/7 and 61/255 which inter alia observed that remembrance of the Holocaust is critical to prevent further acts of genocide, condemned without reservation any denial of the Holocaust and urged all Member States to reject denial of the Holocaust as an historical event either in full or in part or any activities to this end.

Finally, my outrage a few months back about the Spanish judge attempting to put Israeli’s on trial for killing terrorists has taken on new meaning. It seems that the same judge is now trying to bring charges against Americans. Naturally, we’re not taking too kindly to this.

The day started off with reputable analyst Mike Mayo of Calyon Securities saying that U.S. banks’ loan losses may exceed Great Depression levels. Interestingly, within this WSJ opinion piece we learn that only once before did US consumer mortgage debt grow as quickly as it did over the last 9 years (300%)… 1920-1929 – leading us into the Great Depression!

Billionaire hedge-fund manager George Soros said that the Markets’ most recent uptick is nothing more than a bear-market rally. He also stated that last week’s change in mark-to-market rules were a mistake and would stall the recovery. Meredith Whitney told CNBC that while people should be careful shorting in bank stocks right now, she expected home prices to fall another 30 percent.

The Dow 30 (AKA DJIA) was down as much as 155 points to 7,863 at one point today (not a big deal but below the October 9th intraday low of 7,882) but then had a nice comeback to close down only 42 at 7,976. Of course, those October lows were decimated several times since then and everyone seems quite giddy that we are around the 8,000 mark. What a difference a few months make!

Last but not least, my home state of New Jersey, whose pension fund is sucking some serious wind due to extremely poor management and the crash of equity markets, may roll the dice big time and purchase some toxic assets. Why wouldn’t they take some of that cash to Atlantic City and bet it their? After all, at least the money lost would go right back into the NJ economy? Hell, they can even tax the casinos exorbitantly on the money they loose and just bet it again and again until they win!

Wow. On April 2nd 2009 the President of the United States of America bowed before the Monarch of Saudi Arabia. No, this isn’t a kooky prediction by Osama Bin Laden or some other insane Jihadist or radical imam – this actually happened. Most people I’ve spoken with don’t believe it, probably because the US media paid absolutely no attention to it; however, it did happen and here is the video of this absolutely inexcusable act:



Notice that the King did not return the favor, lest one think the bow is a standard Arab greeting (it isn’t, a kiss on the cheek is usually the way to go). Also, I can’t seem to find photos or videos of any other G-20 leaders following suit. I’m so curious to hear the BS excuses liberals are going to come up with, especially considering how proud they’ve been of the Obama’s casualness towards foreign dignitaries.

I guess this is the kind of change Barack Hussein Obama has brought; a complete subordination to the world’s tyrants! Talk about fodder for the terrorist Jihadists (who may hate the king but gladly except the many millions he pays them off with in protection money). I can hear the radical hate filled imams preaching throughout the world about how the American President bowed before the protectors of Mecca and Medina. How this act was brought about through Jihad and how Jihad has spread Allah’s word around the world. After all, how many of these terrorist spewing mosques have been built and supported by the Wahhabi Kingdom?

It clearly doesn’t bother Obama that, under King Abdullah’s leadership, Saudi Arabia has continued to persecute women as well as religious & ethnic minorities. The country’s legal system forbids non-Muslims from testifying in court and allows women to testify only on personal matters that didn’t occur in the sight of men; leaving them unable to testify against their assaulters or rapists. Even worse, the kingdom regularly punishes victims of gang rapes with imprisonment and lashes (not to mention turning their back on the customary honor killings that often follows). Just last month a destitute 75 year old grandmother was sentenced to 4-months in prison, 40 lashes and deportation. Her crime? Allowing two men to deliver bread to her. Hell, it is the only country in the world that forbids women from driving! As if all this isn’t bad enough, the king recently named pro-terrorist Prince Nayef to the post of 2nd Deputy Prime Minister, putting him directly in line to the Saudi throne.

Of course this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering Obama’s:
  •   1st call as President was to Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas of the terrorist Palestinian Authority.
  •   First formal TV interview as president was with Al-Arabiya.
  •   First official order was to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay.
  •   Original choice to chair the National Intelligence Council was on the Saudi payroll.
  •   First major foreign policy initiative was to give almost $1 Billion to rebuild HAMAS’ Gaza.

When will the press start doing their job and start some honest reporting on this Pressident? There really is no excuse for this most unpresidential display and I’m sure most American’s will eventually see this video and realize how much of a disgrace Obama really is.
