I’ve been doing some research on the H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine and our government’s response and have found some pretty interesting things:

1. CBS Report on H1N1 Misdiagnoses: According to a three-month-long CBS News investigation released on October 21st, the vast majority of assumed H1N1 cases were MISDIAGNOSED. For example, of 8,853 suspected cases in Florida, 83% tested negative for any flu (seasonal or H1N1) and, of 13,704 specimens in California, 86% tested negative for any flu and only 2% had H1N1.

2. Purdue Researchers – H1N1 Has Probably Peaked & Vaccine will Only Help 6% of Population: Purdue University researches have found that, even though less than 7% of the H1N1 vaccine has been delivered, the “pandemic” has most probably peaked! The researchers also found that the vaccine “will only help approximately 6 percent of the population.”

3. President Obama Declares H1N1 a National Emergency: On October 24th, President Obama signed a proclamation declaring the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic a National Emergency. One of the most distressing aspects of this declaration is the indemnification of those deputized to respond to this ‘emergency’. Considering the makers of the vaccine have already been indemnified, this chain of indemnification is pretty troubling. Also, the government claimed the National Emergency had to be declared on October 21st as “The H1N1 epidemic is moving rapidly” – in direct contrast to what the Purdue Researchers and CBS report.

4. Ewa Kopacz, Polish Health Minister, Questions Vaccine Safety: All Polish jokes aside, Dr. Kopacz testimony before the Polish Parliament was truly eye opening. She started with the most important question any Dr. can ask “Would I give it to my elderly mother, my child?” She continues to ask several questions such as:

“There are three vaccines available on the market today, from three different producers. Each has a different amount of active substance and yet, strangely, they are all treated the same.”

There are websites on which vaccine producers have an obligation to publish so-called vaccinational unwanted side-effects. The vaccinations in Europe started October 1st, 2009. I would like you to visit any of these websites and find any unwanted side-effects, any slightest thing, at least one, like allergic skin rash. That can happen with even the safest medicine. There are none on those websites – a perfect medicine! And since it’s so miraculous, then why doesn’t the producing company want to introduce their medicine to the free market and take responsibility for it? Why wouldn’t they say, ‘It’s a wonderful, safe medicine. Therefore, I will take responsibility for it. I will introduce it to the market and everything is clear and transparent’, instead of dropping the weight on us buyers?

We do not have clinical test results, no detailed ingredients and no information about side effects. The vaccines are now in the fourth stage of tests – very short tests — and we still do not have the results.

Also, there are 1 billion people with seasonal flu worldwide every year, I million deaths from seasonal flu worldwide every year. And the statistics haven’t just been recorded for a year or two but for a very long time. Has anyone, anywhere, ever announced a pandemic because of a seasonal flu? And the seasonal flu is much more dangerous than swine flu. There are even deaths and severe complications. Has there ever been a pandemic announced?

Those who push on me to buy vaccines, I ask you, ‘Why didn’t you scream and shout last year, two years ago, and in 2003’? In 2003 there were 1,200,000 Poles having seasonal flu. Has anyone here in this room shouted ‘Let’s buy vaccines for everyone’? I can’t recall such a thing.

Really crazy stuff. More to come…

From a Washington Times story on October 15th:

President Obama recently shifted authority for approving sales to China of missile and space technology from the White House to the Commerce Department — a move critics say will loosen export controls and potentially benefit Chinese missile development.

Then yesterday, we see this story from AP:

A U.S. Navy admiral expressed new concern Friday over China’s military buildup and urged Beijing to be clearer about its intentions.

With China’s military growing at an “unprecedented rate,” the U.S. wants to ensure that expansion doesn’t destabilize the region, Rear Adm. Kevin Donegan told reporters on a visit to the Chinese territory of Hong Kong.

Donegan referred to China’s expanded weaponry. His remarks echoed the concerns of other U.S. military leaders who have said the growth in China’s military spending — up almost 15 percent in the 2009 budget — raises questions about how Beijing plans on deploying its new power.

Donegan said he was concerned with anti-access weapons. This class of weapons includes missiles and submarines that can threaten U.S. forces in the region and prevent them responding in the event of a crisis.

“I am absolutely concerned,” Donegan said.

In all honesty, Chinese spies have had so much success stealing all kinds of technology from us over the past 15-years that it kind of makes sense to just sell it to them. Perhaps they’ll just write off some of the $800 Billion in US treasury notes?

Yeah, you just have to be a complete idiot to think that it isn’t important to get calls right – plain and simple. Don’t give me Bud Selig’s BS that it affects the “pace of the game”. After all, doesn’t a player or manager arguing a call for several minutes affect the pace of the game? In any case, the overwhelming majority of calls could be gotten right in less than 30-seconds – certainly less time than it takes a manager to even get to the offending ump.

Personally, I think even balls & strikes should be determined automatically; however, who can argue that there aren’t several instances that umpires simply have no ability to make the right calls on a consistent basis.

Check Swings: It is literally impossible for the ump behind the plate to see both the location of the pitch and whether the batter swung the bat. Likewise, it is unlikely that the umpires down the line have as good a view as the overhead camera. Why not just appeal to an ump sitting in front of an overhead monitor?

Tagging Up: As demonstrated this post season with the atrocious Nick Swisher ALCS call, it is simply impossible for the ump to see the runner’s foot on the bag and the ball in the fielder’s glove simultaneously.

Trapped Catches: Come on, how long does it take for replay to get something like this right? Tonight’s call in the 7th is a perfect example of an umpire’s refusal to use common sense in determining the correct call. If Ryan Howard actually thought he caught the ball on a fly, would he have thrown to second or just stepped on the bag for the inning ending double play? What a huge blown call by the ump – instead of bases loaded with 1-out and Teixeira & A-Rod coming up, the inning was over.

Safe/Out on the Bases: How often are the umpires blocked or just plain wrong? Whether a tag-out on a pickoff or a close play at first (like in tonight’s top of the 8th inning-ending double play).

In a recent interview MLB commissioner Bud Selig stated:

“Affecting the game on the field is not something I really want to do.”
Grow a pair, you’re the freaking commissioner! I guess he just prefers to have the umpires affect the game with horrendous calls.

“I do like the human element and I think the human element for the last 130 years has worked pretty well.”
Are you kidding me! The human element? What the hell are the players for? By that rational, we can replace the players with robots and keep the umps therefore maintaining the human element. Also, it really drives me nuts when people use the rational of ‘well, it worked for ___ years, so…’ I mean, blood letting worked for several hundred years and, come to think of it, human sacrifice did as well!

I would love for someone to comment on this post and offer up a rational reason for not implementing technology that will allow MLB to get as many calls as possible correct. After all, isn’t the integrity of the game paramount?

While President Obama touts his commitment “to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government” his State Department refuses to offer Congress their legal reasoning behind this Administration’s absurd policy against the constitutional ousting of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya.

There have been numerous requests that the Administration release the legal opinion rendered by their handpicked State Department attorney Harold Koh; however, all such requests have been denied. So much for that promised openness.

Actually, to be fair to the administration, they have been extremely open about telling Al Qaeda and America’s other enemies our interrogation tactics.

In my June 29th post titled “Obama and Clinton Clueless On Honduras” I exposed just how false President Obama’s repeated statements were on the illegality of the constitutional removal of wannabe tyrant Manuel Zelaya by the Honduran Supreme Court and Congress.

While it came as no surprise to many that President Obama would pander to Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega and Cuba’s Castro brothers, Obama just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to side with socialists tyrants against Central America’s burgeoning democracies.

Well, in a detailed report for the US Congress by the Directorate of Legal Research for Foreign, Comparative, and International Law my assertions on Obama’s cluelessness were proven absolutely correct. A key excerpt from the report:

Available sources indicate that the judicial and legislative branches applied constitutional and statutory law in the case against President Zelaya in a manner that was judged by the Honduran authorities from both branches of the government to be in accordance with the Honduran legal system.

And here I thought America’s days of telling other countries how to act was over. I guess President Obama only applies that to countries with gross civil rights violations and those threatening the world with atomic destruction. He’ll be more than happy to capitulate to those countries’ demands and engage their leaders in fruitless dialog.

Fresh off his hilarious bitch slapping at the hands of the IOC, President Barack Obama continues his “I’m sorry, America has always been wrong, I apologize and will do the exact opposite of what we’ve done until now.”

It was announced earlier today that the President would not be welcoming the esteemed Dalai Lama later this week, breaking a tradition dating back to 1991. Of course, this is nothing more than a blatant display of appeasement to China as BHO prepares for his trip to China next month.

Back to the Olympics, I personally don’t think any amount of lobbying would have gotten the Anti-American clowns in Copenhagen to vote for Chicago; however, it is just so amusing that Chicago went from being a very strong contender to dead last in the voting. Instead of wasting his time and further tarnishing his golden boy image, he could have spent more than 25 minutes with General McChrystal going over the tenuous situation in Afghanistan.

For the past few years I’ve used an AMEX Corporate Platinum card and have always paid my bill in full on time (usually pretty early). I recently decided that it would behoove me to get a card that reports to my personal credit due to our country’s retarded credit system – you know, the one that exclusively deems people with large debts worthy of acquiring even more debt while screwing over responsible people like myself who actually purchase only what they can afford (more on this in a future post). Anyhow, I applied for and received a shiny new American Express Gold Card. So far, so good.

So, like the responsible person that I am, I spent a couple of hours switching over my many, many auto billed services to my new card. Well, after a day or two of minimal use, I get my first declined charge. I immediately called the bold faced liars at American Express and, believe it or not, they tell me that they want to verify me via a conference call with my bank. A bit confused, I say ok and tell them they could call my main bank; however, after a few minutes on hold, the rep tells me that the bank is closed and we would need to wait until the following day (and the card would be blocked until then). I suggest they try another bank where I have accounts and, after a few more minutes on hold, I am told that everything checks out and that the card would start working again.

The next morning, I get a call from American Express stating that they are putting a hold on my account and that they need me to fill out a form allowing them to receive my IRS information. Mind you, I personally spend close to $10,000 a month on my other card and pay it in full each and every month. A quick review of my charges and the source of my payments would quickly tell them everything they need to know. Nonetheless, I fill out the form and send it back to them within an hour.

A few days have passed and my account, still being on hold, begins rejecting the automatic charges I’ve setup even though many of those charges are tiny and amount to under $20. What a pain in the ASS!!! Naturally, I have to ask who in the right mind would think it is a good idea to send someone a card and then try verifying information? No wonder they needed $3.5 Billion in taxpayer funds plus untold billions more in TALF and shady Federal Reserve programs.

All I can say is that at this point I think I will be cancelling both my cards and really wish I had the balls to just not pay them (but I’m going to). My advice to others is to simply AVOID THE IDIOTS AT AMERICAN EXPRESS.

Predictably, President Barack Obama quickly moved today to placate his Latin American pals (Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, and Daniel Ortega). In his statement on the exiling of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, the President stated:

“We believe that the coup was not legal…”

“It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition, rather than democratic elections.”

“our goal now is on restoring democratic order in Honduras.”

Now, let’s look at the undeniable facts behind what happened in Honduras:

Constitutionally barred from running for a second term, Honduran President Zelaya unilaterally moved for a referendum to have the constitution changed. Unfortunately for Zelaya, he HAD NO LEGAL RIGHT to call for such a referendum (that right rests solely in the hands of its democratically elected Congress).

Nonetheless, Zelaya had his dear friend Hugo Chavez ship him the illegal ballots from Venezuela. The Honduran Supreme Court then ruled the referendum illegal and instructed the Honduran military to refuse its duty of carrying out the illegal vote.

When the military’s ranking General (Romeo Vásquez Velásquez) informed Zelaya that, naturally, he would obey the country’s top court, Zelaya fired him. Well, you can imagine that the court was none too pleased with this most un-presidential firing and promptly ordered that the general be reinstated. Zelaya refused.

The next day, Zelaya led a mob to the building where those Venezuelan ballots were being stored, stormed it and instructed his supporters to distribute the illegal ballots.

Finally, all branches of the democratic Honduran government-from the Supreme Court to Congress to Attorney General-decided that enough was enough and ordered the military to fulfill its mandate and protect the country’s democracy.

So, what exactly was President Obama’s referring to as “an illegal coup”? Also, when he states “we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition…” he shows off his ignorance of the situation in Honduras.

The Honduran military, acting at the bi-partisan request of a democratically elected Congress and Court was, to quote Barack, doing nothing less than “restoring democratic order in Honduras.”

In his usual rush to placate socialist dictators that wish only the worst for America, President Obama has done nothing less than undermine a burgeoning democracy.

In a previous post, I wrote about how President Barack Obama was repaying his wealthy campaign financiers with prime ambassadorships in Japan, France, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.

Well, last week the President continued his payback:

  · Belgium: Washington lawyer Howard Gutman, who raised over $500,000 for Obama’s campaign.

  · Switzerland: Donald Beyer, who also raised more than $500,000 for the campaign.

  · Belize: Vinai Thummalapally, Colorado business executive, raised up to $200,000 for the campaign.

Obama also named Washington lawyer Mark Gitenstein to an ambassadorial post. Gitenstein, who personally donated the maximum allowed contribution of $4,500 to V.P. Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and $1,500 to Hillary Clinton’s campaign was given the far less desirable post in Romania. Don’t worry Mark, you’ll still get the free travel, meals, parties and expenses.
